Anna Luisa Costa

Anna Luisa Costa got a Ph.D in Chemistry Science at University of Bologna in 1996 and is at the present permanent researcher at CNR-ISTEC, in charge of Nanotechnology Laboratory. Her research activity is mainly addressed to:

• synthesis and functionalization of nano and micro powders;
• nano and micro sols formulation and wet colloidal characterization;
• processes of solid surfaces functionalization by ceramic nano sols coating/deposition techniques.

The experience gained in the field of colloidal science has been fruitfully transferred to the control of nano particles confinement and surface chemistry, opening new challenges towards the control of potentially adverse health impact of nanomaterials. She is coordinating FP7 project SANOWORK and WP leader  of FP7 large project SUN, addressing research to the development of Safer by Design Products.
